Parks and Trails in and Near Bothell You Can’t Miss

In Bothell, it’s easy to be one with nature, thanks to the number of luscious parks and beautiful trails that surround the city.

Whether you’re looking for a new go-to biking route, an easy trail to stroll, or the perfect picnic spot, read on to discover each of the unique parks in and around the city.

Park at Bothell Landing

A Bothell mainstay, the Park at Bothell Landing is home to the Bothell Historical Museum and our city’s iconic bridge that stands over the Sammamish River.

The park itself features a playground, barbecue area, amphitheater, and gazebo for easily accessible resting spots for you to people-watch or admire the scenery. Stop by in the summer, where you can rent paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, and Beach Cruiser bicycles from WhatsSup Stand Up Paddle and Kayak.

Sammamish River Trail

Cross the historic Bothell bridge at the Park at Bothell Landing and you’ll immediately be on the Sammamish River Trail, a paved trail that stretches to Gas Works Park in Seattle. The 31.6-acre route is perfect for bikers, joggers, and leisurely walkers alike.

Continue down the trail and you’ll discover breathtaking vistas of the Sammamish River and wildlife, including rare bald eagle sightings!

Burke-Gilman Trail

Built in the 1970s, Burke-Gilman Trail was once one of the first rail-trails in the country.

The trail is named after Thomas Burke and Daniel Gilman, two Seattle residents who created the Seattle, Lake Shore and Eastern Railway line in 1885. The line was particularly popular for the logging industry in the 1960s, but now, the 20-mile trail is great for biking, walking, jogging, and skating.

Blyth Park

Blyth Park features almost 41 acres of heavenly greenery and trails connecting to the Burke-Gilman and Sammamish River Trails. The park is the perfect place to have a picnic, either on the grass, at a picnic table, or under the different large and small picnic shelters. You could also host a barbecue at one of Blyth Park’s dedicated grills and play 10-hole disc golf.

Wayne Golf Course

Once large, private land, the 89-acre Wayne Golf Course was bought and converted to a public park for all to enjoy. Although golf is no longer permitted on the green, golf cart trails are now walking paths and visitors can fish in the Sammamish River.

North Creek Trail

A visit to Bothell wouldn’t be complete without a walk through North Creek Trail. The trail is just outside of the city and features a floating boardwalk that immerses you in the wildlife — without getting your feet wet. It also winds through the area’s wetlands, making it perfect for bird-watching. Keep your eyes peeled for hawks, wrens, and woodpeckers!
