Head to The Park at Bothell Landing and take paddle boarding or kayaking lessons down the Sammamish River with WhatsSup Stand up Paddle & Surf. And if you’re up for it, set out for Capt. Steve’s Combo Adventure, which starts with paddling the Sammamish until you reach Lake Washington, then pedaling a Beach Cruiser Bicycle back to the Park at Bothell Landing through the Burke-Gilman Trail.
Admire a whole new view of the Pacific Northwest by riding a hot air balloon. Operating for over 30 years, Over the Rainbow Hot Air Balloon Rides offers sunrise and sunset flights with panoramic views of Seattle, the Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountain Range, and more. The sunset flight even includes a wine tasting experience in Woodinville.
Test your taste buds by trying some of Bothell’s spiciest foods.
Visit Kin Dee Thai Bothell and order the Som Tum Buu Pla Ra, a green papaya salad with carrots, green beans, tomatoes, salted crab, and Thai anchovies in tamarind-fish sauce. To experience its full flavor, request to have it traditionally spicy.
For a heartier Thai dish, try the restaurant’s Guay Tiew Tom Yum, a noodle soup dish that’s packed with flavor and bound to make you sweat.
Put on your hiking shoes, strap on your backpack, and pack up some snacks — nothing says adventure like hiking a new trail. Start by exploring Shelton View Forest, which features 42 acres of habitat and is home to woodland creatures that call the forest home.
An alternative is the Blyth Park and the Tolt Pipeline Trail, which includes hill inclines that get your heart racing including one steep incline affectionately called “Cardiac Hill.” The out-and-back trail is about 5.4 miles long with gravel and dirt surfaces, so prepare accordingly!
